MAGIC

Could it be Magic?  Naaaaaaaaaaaaa just something I wanted to share with you my friends.

Have you ever just wanted to spice things up a bit, especially chicken?  I found this spice at Walmart the other week and tried it on some chicken.  It was wonderful.  When my Handsome Man got home from work he wanted to know what was cooking that smelled so good.

Look at this!

I covered a baking pan with some REYNOLDS WRAP non-stick foil lined parchment paper.

Wonderful stuff that foil parchment paper; never have to scrub a pan again!

Back to the subject....I cut up 3 large chicken breast placed them in the pan.  THEN....

I sprinkled each piece with this!!!!! MAGIC

Chicken Brunswick Stew

Good Morning, Good Morning my friend :)

I just wanted to share this recipe for a delicious chicken stew that I made for my family last night.  Quick and easy, and the chicken baking in the oven makes the house smell GOOD!

I found the original recipe in a cook book that my Hubby's Aunt Jan had given me many years ago.  The cook book was called "What's Cooking in Camden?  by Betty Garber and complied by Camden Junior Welfare League.

When I find a recipe I usually change it up a bit to fit my family's taste, so here is my version of the stew.  If you make it, I hope you like it :)

Enjoy, And Have a Blessed Wednesday Everyone :)

CURTAIN REVEAL & DECISION

Good MORNING :)

I needed a curtain for my kitchen window that is why this all started!  We had some very nice neighbors move in next door, and my kitchen window is facing their back patio.  The old neighbors never used the back yard, but the new neighbors have their patio all prettied up and love to use it.  My kind of folks.

The only issue for me was every time I went to the sink to do something I was looking at them and they were looking at me.  We both thought that anyway!  Awkward!!

So the hunt began for fabric.  After a long time of looking I finally found some with the colors I liked.  Bought it, came home with it, and struggled with it.  I really do know how to sew because my Mama taught me, but this fabric was too heavy, thick, and would not keep its' shape.  Anyway BLAA BLAA BLAA.....

My beautiful fabric and its' COLOR, and fun trim :)

Below is the before picture of both kitchen windows.  I had made the curtains for the larger window a long time ago, also had one just like it for the sink window.  WAS TIRED OF THEM.

With prayer from my FB friends, and MY MANY prayers, here is how it went.

This is my old trusted friend "Kenmore" that my handsome hubby bought me many years ago when I was a young wife and mother.  I would make dresses for the girls and I for church on this old gal.  She still works fine :)

First the "sink" window curtain all finished.  I made it this strange design, because I wanted as much sunlight to come in as possible.  I left it open at the top and bottom.  Reminded me of a cafe curtain.  I didn't want the fabric to hang down to the window seal because of my "little treasures" that I have sitting there from my mama.  Also the fabric might get dirty from water splashes from the sink.

Do you like it?  I thought it turned out pretty good since I never lined a curtain before, or added trim to one.

Now for the "Struggle for Me."  The double window by the dining table.
This pictures is after the top, side seams, lining, and trim have been completed.

I wanted to make a balloon type of curtain for this window.  Something that would take a little more effort and hopefully look pretty.  I had seen one hanging in the fabric store and really liked it.

The saleswomen at the fabric store told me I would have to use a gathering tape on the backside to make the gathers.  She said it was easy and would look nice with the fabric.

"THEN THE WARNING"

She said, to use this gathering tape, you must never sew on the strings or it won't gather up.  Just sew on the VERY EDGE of each side of the tape.    ok I said...................

After sweating bullets and twisting my hands together over and over, praying, and alot of coffee,  I did it, I did it and it worked.  :)

Blinds open
What do you think?  Is it too long?  Should it be shorter and cover less window.  Is it all right?  My family likes it this way, but I am thinking I should cut the top off and redo it shorter.  Like this pic below of a piece of fabric bunched up with clothes pins up higher?????????

What do you think?  Short or Long? Decisions, decisions!!!!  Let me know people, let me know.  Here is the finished product again.

One day when I get the walls finished with a coat of paint and the back splash put up, I will show you the whole kitchen.  :)

Don't be afraid to try making something new,  just TRY :)

I hope you all have a blessed day.  Thank you for following me to the end of this project's post.

Nutella

Nutella

Hi Friends,  Hope you have had a great Wednesday so far.  I have been very busy today babysitting my 3 grand-children.  We have been playing, watching movies, coloring pictures, and practicing writing our numbers to 100 and writing our names for school next week.  I will miss my grands when school starts next week.  We have had a great summer this year.

We love chocolate!  So when I saw a recipe on Pinterest to make Nutella Pops in the freezer I decided give it a try today.

You only needed 2 things.
(1)  Nutella Spread
(2)  Cool Whip Topping

I use only half of the cool whip container just in case we didn't like it.

Added a large blop of Nutella and mixed it.

Next step stuff the frozen pop molds with the mixture, and place in the freeze for a few hours. Wait.....wait.....wait.....wait.

I found these two beautiful young taste-testers, who were experts, to try my frozen pops.

The expert on the right has a serious look and is ready for the taste-testing to begin.

Ok maybe not so serious after all :)

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.  One expert gives a thumbs up.  The other one not so sure about it.

Lick, lick, slobber, slobber...............

Ok....the taste-testing is over and the experts liked the pops, especially one of them.

WAIT FOR IT.......WAIT FOR IT.......

YUMMY

Now for my review of these pops!  They tasted ok, but would not freeze solid enough to slide out of the mold.  They were too soft.  They broke in half even after running warm water over the mold.  We had to scoop the rest out with a spoon.  I know there has to be a better recipe for these Nutella pops somewhere.  If you have one please share.  In the meantime I will keep looking.

Have a Blessed Day

Praise His Name With Thankfulness

Dear Lord,  I thank you for creating the earth and everything in it, and that you made mankind in your own likeness.  Thank you for your authority and deep love for all people.  Lord help us to see your hand of love everywhere we look and to never take it for granted.

Lord I ask for you to be with all those who are facing health issues in their lives.  Give wisdom to those who are faced with making decisions, and guide their doctors by your Holy Spirit.  God I ask that your Mighty Power be seen in the lives of your children who are seeking your healing touch.  Touch those who have pain and may not feel well from taking treatments or going through recovery time right now.  Please comfort their bodies as only you the Great Physician can do.  In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.

Psalm 138:3                When I pray, you answer me, and encourage me by giving me the strength I need.

1 Chronicles 16:11      Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.

Philippians 4:13           I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.

Have a Blessed Sunday My Family & Friends,

Little Bity Treasure

Do you have any precious keepsakes from your parents?  I sure do.  I have been looking through them recently and wondering about the story behind each one of them.

Like....where did you get it?  Who gave it to you?  How old is it?  Why was it special to you?

Oh how I wish I had asked my parents more questions about things in life that I took for granted.  But I didn't.

Anyway... I wanted to share some pictures of one special Little Treasure that belonged to my mother, Mildred M. Treadaway.

The only thing I know about this piece is that it was Mama's when she was a small child, and on the bottom it says made in Japan.  Green was my mother's favorite color, so I know she must have really liked this.

It is so dainty and small.  The saucer has yellowed a little in the center from age, but it is still so beautiful.

Here is a perspective of how small it really is.  I always handle it wish such care, and pray I don't break it.

And here is my Little Treasure again :)  I hope to share some more of my Treasures with you soon.  What special keepsakes do you have?

Don't forget, if your parents are still living, to ask them lots of questions about their life and special things.  Then you will be able to pass the information along to your family for generations.  Oh what stories you could tell :)

Lamentations 5:19

You, O LORD, reign forever;
your throne endures from
generation to generation.

Have a blessed Monday friends :)

WHEEL-BARROW
PROJECT

The other day I was on-line looking at gardening pictures, and saw several post with folks taking their old wheel-barrows and using them as a planter.  And that gave me and idea.  My hubby and I have a old plastic wheel-barrow that we didn't like very much because it would not roll when you placed something in it.  What good is that I ask ya!!!

After getting my sweet hubby's ok I started on my
                                   Wheel-Barrow Project :)

What did I do next you ask?  Well I went to WALMART of course.  The BESTEST shopping place in the WORLD, and selected some fine flowers for my project.

Next I needed some drain holes in the bottom of the barrel.  So I borrowed my Sweet Handsome Hubby's drill.......actually he drilled the holes for me.  Such a kind man he is to me :)

Flip and drill, so easy.  Notice this is my hand holding the drill not Hubby's.  I had to re-enact this part myself.  He was not available for pictures!!!!!  HA HA HA

DONE :)

Next the dirty work.....The barrel was very deep and I didn't want to fill it completely with expensive potting soil.  I got out my handy yard rake and gathered up some of those annoying gum balls, pine straw and dead leaves to fill the bottom with.  I hope it will be a good mulch for my flowers.

Next added 2 bags of Walmart's finest Potting Mix by Miracle Grow.  And spread, spread, spread it around.  Can you tell I like taking pictures?   It's a hobby of mine in case you haven't figured it out yet HA HA HA HA :)

THE REVEAL, AINT IT PURTTY!

Added a few touches of BLING-BLING for my BELOVED GRAND-CHILDREN to enjoy looking at.  A little solar light.

And a White Bunny

My finished Wheel-Barrow Project.  I think it looks much better now than just sitting empty by the side of the house.  Another good thing about it is I can move it around in the yard when the flowers need shade or cover from a storm.  Maybe I need to make another one!!!!

I hope you enjoyed me sharing my project with you through pictures today.

                                           Genesis 1:12
The land produced vegetation; plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds.  And GOD saw that it was good.

Have a blessed day :)
